Northwest Elementary student Jenna Vorheis recently won the first place award from the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society for the best dentally-related science fair project.
The topic of her presentation was "A Comparison of Whitening Toothpastes."
Dr. John Regan presented the award plus a check for $25 as a representative of the dental society.
Seth Mottran and Josh Vorheis received special recognition awards from Dr. Regan for their dentally-related science fair projects. Melissa Ross is the fifth-grade teacher in charge of the science fair.
The Isaac Knapp District Dental Society established a special science fair award program to encourage an interest in dental health and dental careers. The Society represents the counties of Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley in Northeast Indiana.
