County’s tractor operators steer their way to ribbons

The Huntington County 4-H Tractor Operators Contest was held Sunday, July 8 at Hier's Park. A total of 18 members from the tractor project participated in the contest.

The contest involves three different components of tractor parts identification, written test and driving a tractor on the designated course. Results from the competition are as follows:

Michael Winters, champion and Thomas Horn, reserve champion and Jacob Hiatt receiving a blue ribbon.

Red ribbons were awarded to Lane Whitted and Colin Suchcicki.

A red ribbon was awarded to David Layman.

The top three participants in each of the four divisions are eligible to represent Huntington County in the Area XI 4-H Tractor Operators Contest scheduled for Saturday, July 28, at Hier's Park in Huntington.

Tyler Blocker and Nate Richardson were presented the Master Tractor Award. This award, sponsored by North Central Co-op and Dennis Grain, is presented to a 4-H member who is actively involved in the 4-H tractor program through meeting attendance, participation in the county driving competition and support to the program.
