Coloring contest gets added to events list for Christmas in the City celebration Nov. 24

Children 12 and younger are invited to take part in a coloring contest as part of the Christmas in the City celebration on Saturday, Nov. 24, in downtown Huntington.

Pictures for the coloring contest, sponsored by the New Huntington Theatre and Supper Club, are available online at www.hunt ingtonsupperclub.com. Children should turn in the completed coloring sheets when they visit Santa Claus at The New Huntington Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 24, between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Winners will receive $50 gift cards for Toys R Us.

Parents who visit Santa with their children can enter a drawing for a pair of tickets to the theater's holiday show.

Santa Claus will be escorted to downtown Huntington in a parade beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Children can meet a live reindeer and a miniature animal, and children and adults can ride the Reindeer Express mini train. Both events will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. across the street from the theater.

There is a fee for adult train rides, but children 12 and younger can ride the train for free thanks to sponsorships by Mayor and Mrs. Brooks Fetters, Paula Bittner of Four Corners Custom Framing and Gifts and Tim and Phyllis Renz of Renz Floor Care, Inc.
