Forks of the Wabash shares winners of Festival of Trees

On Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday, Dec. 12, community members were able to vote on their favorite sponsored trees and wreaths at the Christmas at the Forks event. Featured is the Pathfinders Kids Kampus tree, depicting several Toy Story characters.

On Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday, Dec. 12, the Forks of the Wabash Museum hosted its annual Christmas at the Forks event. The day began with Breakfast with Santa that was sponsored by Continental Structure Plastics and served by the Optimist Club.

Following the breakfast, the Festival of Trees began. Along with the 15 trees and eight wreaths that were on display, the Miami Nation from Fort Wayne decorated the Chief Richardville House and had tours.

On Sunday, the winners were drawn from containers representing each tree and wreath. The sponsor receiving the most votes (tickets) took first, second and third place ribbons.

Tree winners included the following:
• First place – Community & Family Services sponsored tree. Tree was won by Robert Hiatt.
• Second place – Town and Country Flowers and Gifts sponsored tree.  Tree was won by Paul Augspurger.
• Third place – Miller’s Merry Manor sponsored tree. Tree was won by Rena Urschel.
• Ezra Parsons won the Psi Iota Xi Sorority sponsored tree.
• Cheri Dobbs won the Pathfinder Kids Kampus sponsored tree.
• Jenny Clark won the Huntington Retired Teachers sponsored tree.
• Amy Richard won the Master Gardeners of Huntington County sponsored tree.
• Darlene Stanley won the Century 21 Bradley Jodi Scheiber sponsored tree.
• Adam Pinkerton won the Son Grown Preschool sponsored tree.
• Kai Dubuc won the Edward Jones Inv. Jim Scheiber sponsored tree.
• Jenny Clark won the Twisted Scizzors sponsored tree.
• Juergens girls won the Pathfinder Creative Abilities sponsored tree.
• Janet Gordon won the Huntington Girls Scouts sponsored tree.
• Carole Hacker won the Friends of the Forks sponsored tree.
• Jackson Ellet won the Donna Hollopeter sponsored tree.

Wreath winners included the following:
• First place – Master Gardeners of Huntington County sponsored wreath. Wreath was won by Pam Quillen.
• Second place –Miller’s Merry Manor sponsored wreath. Wreath was won by Larry Wiedman.
• Third place – Community Link Federal Credit Union sponsored wreath. Wreath was won by June Haack.
• Phylis Stouder won the Sharon Lofland sponsored wreath.
• Beth Stricker won the Nadine Piedmont sponsored wreath.
• Pam Quillen won the Donna Hollopeter sponsored wreath.
• Paul Scalf won the Joy Conley sponsored wreath.
• Katrina Harter won the Snowman sponsored by Century 21 Bradley Jodi Scheiber.
