Churches in Huntington area announce special Easter services

Churches across Huntington County will hold special services this week in observance of the Easter season.

Many of those services are listed here, and all churches welcome members of the community.

The Warren Area Ministers Association (WAMA) will hold a Warren Community Good Friday service at the Warren United Church of Christ at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 29. A love offering will be taken for the WAMA Community Fund.
The church is located at 202 E. 2nd St., Warren.

Warren Church of Christ, Warren, will offer "sonrise" service on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 8:30 a.m.

The morning will include breakfast, singing, reading of the Bible and discussion.
Easter worship service will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Markle Church of Christ, Markle, will hold a service on Wednesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. with the message "Christ Condemned & Tortured."

The service on Good Friday, March 29, will be held at 7 p.m. with the message "Christ Crucified."

Services on Easter Sunday, March 31, are at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with the message "Christ Victorious."

Monson Chapel United Methodist, Roanoke, will host a combined service on Good Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Randy Samuels speaking.

Zanesville Community Church of God, Zanesville, will offer a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

The service on Good Friday, March 29, is at 7 p.m.

A sunrise service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 8:30 a.m., with breakfast at 9:10 a.m. and an Easter service at 10 a.m.

Zanesville United Brethren, Zanesville, will offer a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m.

A sunrise service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 9 a.m., with breakfast at 9:40 a.m. and Easter service at 10:30 a.m.

Zanesville United Methodist, Zanesville, will offer a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

A sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 31, is set for 8 a.m., with breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. and Easter service at 10:30 a.m.

Bethesda Free Will Baptist Church, Andrews, will offer sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast.

An Easter egg hunt for youth will be held after the breakfast.

There are no other services or Sunday school that day.

New Hope United Church of Christ, Bippus, will offer service with a light supper on Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m.

A sunrise service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 7:30 a.m., followed by breakfast and service at 9:30 a.m.

SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, will celebrate Mass on Holy Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

Veneration of the Cross will be held on Good Friday, March 29, at 1 p.m.

Easter Vigil will begin on Saturday, March 30, at 8:45 p.m.

Masses on Easter Sunday, March 31, will follow the regular schedule, at 6:30 a.m., 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Faith Community Church of God, Huntington, will offer a service of communion and foot washing on Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m.

The church will host Journey to the Cross, a prayer walk-through of the last days of Jesus' life, on Good Friday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

An Easter egg and scavenger hunt for children 12 and younger will be held on Saturday, March 30, at 9:30 a.m.

A "sonrise" service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast at 8:45 a.m. and a service at 10 a.m.

Bethel Assembly of God, Huntington, will hold a service on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 10 a.m.

Union Church, Huntington, will offer a service at its Vine Campus on Good Friday, March 29, at noon.

Services on Easter Sunday, March 31, will be held at 10 a.m. at both the Vine Campus and the church's 400 North location.

Evangelical United Methodist Church, Huntington, will offer a Maundy Thursday service on Thursday, March 28, at 7 p.m.

A service on Good Friday, March 29, will be held at 7 p.m.

A sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at 7:15 a.m., service at 8:30 a.m., a children's Easter egg hunt and party at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m.

Huntington Church of the Brethren, Huntington, will offer a love feast and foot washing service on March 28 at 6:30 p.m.

A sunrise service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 7:20 a.m. in the parking lot next to the Kay Medical Building at Parkview Huntington Hospital, followed by breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and service at 9:45 a.m.

St. Peter's First Community Church, Huntington, will offer service on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 9:30 a.m.

Christ the King Episcopal Church, Huntington, will offer Maundy Thursday communion on Thursday, March 28, at 6 p.m.

A liturgy will be held on Good Friday, March 29, at 12:10 p.m.

An Easter vigil is set for Saturday, March 30 at 9 p.m.
Easter communion is on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 9 a.m.

Anglican Church of Our Glorious King, Huntington, will offer Maundy Thursday communion on March 28 at 7 p.m.

A liturgy will be held on Good Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m.

Communion is scheduled on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, will hold a Last Supper service on Thursday, March 28 at 7 p.m.

The service on Good Friday, March 29, is at 12:30 p.m. with stations of the cross at 6:30 p.m.

An Easter vigil on Saturday, March 30, begins at 8:30 p.m.

Masses on Easter Sunday, March 31, are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Awakening Community Church, Huntington, will hold a service on Good Friday, March 29, at 6:30 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary.

A service on Easter Sunday, March 31, will be held at 10 a.m. at the church.

Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, will offer a Maundy Thursday service on March 28 that will offer a variety of elements to commemorate the events leading up to Easter, including a foot washing service with stations for men and women at 7 p.m., a hybrid Seder Meal that will recognize Passover, communion and then a Tenebrae service.

Services will be offered on Easter Sunday, March 31, at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. with a Pie Hospitality in between services.

Child care is provides for all services.
