JeFFFest sponsors in place for ‘fun, food, fabulous ...’ on June 24

Paula Bittner, owner of Four Corners Custom Framing, has made more than 100 frames and has begun selling canvases for this year’s JeFFFest. Artists are invited to “fill the frames” with an original artwork and submit the work for the JeFFFest silent art auction. JeFFFest is sponsored by the frame shop and the LaFontaine Arts Council. The event will be held in downtown Huntington on June 24,from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The LaFontaine Arts Council and Four Corners Custom Framing will once again sponsor JeFFFest.

The family-friendly event will take place on June 24 in downtown Huntington from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will feature the three F’s of “fun food, fabulous music and fine art.”

The art portion of JeFFFest offers artists of all ages the opportunity to fill a frame by creating a work on a five-inch by seven-inch canvas. These official JeFFFest canvases are now available for purchase at the frame shop, 419 N. Jefferson St., in Huntington, during regular business hours from Tuesdays through Saturdays. Completed canvases are to be returned to Four Corners Custom Framing by June 15, at which time they become property of the LaFontaine Arts Council. They will be professionally framed and displayed for the silent art auction at the frame shop beginning June 21, and ending the evening of JeFFFest.

Artists may purchase more than one canvas and any media can be used on the canvas. Submissions must be dry and ready for framing when they are turned in. All proceeds from JeFFFest go toward the LaFontaine Arts Council’s Arts in Education programming.

For more information about JeFFFest, contact LaFontaine Arts Council Executive Director Debbie Dyer at 358-0055 or frame shop owner Paula Bittner at 356-0650. Information is also available on both the LaFontaine Arts Council and JeFFFest Facebook pages.
