Roanoke Fall Festival returning for Sept. 2021

The Roanoke Fall Festival is returning this year to offer live music, kids activities, parades, a ducky run, food, crafts, a cake and cookie contest, pageants and more, from Wednesday, Sept. 8, through Saturday, Sept. 11.
The annual Cake and Cookie Competition will take place on Saturday, Sept. 11. There will be cash awards given out. Forms to enter may be found on their website, roanokefallfestival.org.

The schedule for the competition is as follows:
9 to 10:30 a.m. – Drop off cakes and cookies at Seminary United Methodist Church, 285 Seminary St., Roanoke.
11:30 a.m. – Building closed for judging.
1 to 4 p.m. – Cakes and cookies on display at the church.
4:30 p.m. – Cakes and cookies on display at Roanoke Park.
6 p.m. – Cake and cookie auction, main stage. Ness Bros. Real Estate & Auction Service will be the auctioneers.

The following is the schedule of events for the whole festival:
Wednesday, Sept. 8

6 p.m. – A corn hole tournament, pick-up softball games for ages 16 and older and free snow cones.

6:30 p.m. – Huntington North High School Varsity Singers.

7 p.m. – Kick off – Celebration of Praise. This event will be led by Rev. Chris Dourson and the HIM Singers and will feature old time hymns and bluegrass gospel.
A corn hole tournament, free snow cones and softball games will take place that night.

Thursday, Sept. 9

5 p.m. – Carnival and food alley opens.

6 p.m. – Little Miss and Little Mister Roanoke Contest, main stage.

7:30 p.m. – Fleetwood, Party of 2 concert, main stage.

Friday, Sept. 10

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke Used Book Sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Roanoke Fire Department.

5 p.m. – Carnival and food alley opens.

6 p.m. – Opening Ceremony, Main Street. The Colors will be performed by the Roanoke American Legion Post No. 160 Color Guard. Kelli Kreider will sing the National Anthem.

6 p.m. – Soaring Hawks Raptor presentation, main stage.

6:10 p.m. – Ageless Iron Tractor Parade, down Main Street.

6:30 p.m. – The 23rd annual Kendall Dennis Memorial All Star Baseball Game, back diamond at Roanoke Park. There is no charge for this event.

7 p.m. – Applejack Cloggers dance group, main stage.

7 p.m. – NTPA Tractor Pull, Pull Field at Roanoke Park. There is an entry fee organized by the Roanoke Tractor Pullers Association.

8 p.m. – Stranded at the Drive-In, old time rock and roll concert, main stage.

Saturday, Sept. 11

9 to 11 a.m. – Children’s games in the pavilion. There will be chances to win prizes. There is no charge for this event.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke Used Book Sale. All proceeds will be donated to the Roanoke Fire Department.

10 a.m. – Kiddie Tractor Pull, activity tent.

10 a.m. – Meet the firemen at the Roanoke Volunteer Fire Department.

10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Craft Alley opens in the tennis courts.

11:30 a.m. – Pet Parade.

Noon – Carnival and food alley opens.

12:30 p.m. – Indiana Wild, activity tent.

1 to 4 p.m. – Cake and cookies on display at Seminary United Methodist Church.

1:30 p.m. – Relay races and hoola hoops.

3 p.m. – 67th annual Festival Parade on Main Street.

4 p.m. – Joy Pleasers Clown Ministry will be doing balloon animals in the activity tent.

5 p.m. – Ducky Run. Ducks will be dropped in at the bridge closest to the baseball diamond. Tickets will be available at the Roanoke Lion’s Club booth.

6 p.m. – Annual Cake and Cookie auction, main stage.

7 p.m. – Demolition Derby, Pull Field at Roanoke Park. There is an entry fee organized by the Roanoke Tractor Pullers Association.

8 p.m. – G-Money Band, blues, rock and Motown concert, main stage.
Little Miss and Mister Roanoke

Craft Alley
The Roanoke Fall Festival board is seeking craft, business and non-profit vendors for the festival. The application may be found on the website or by e-mailing eter1355rn@gmail.com.

Pet Parade
Interested parties may enter the Pet Parade by the form on the website. The Dog House Grooming and Spa in Roanoke also has applications available.
