Warren Area Antique Tractor Show to feature John Deere equipment

The 2012 Warren Area Antique Tractor and Engine Club will feature John Deere tractors, engines and farm machinery on June 29, 30 and July 1 at its annual show.

The show is held on the grounds of the Daugherty Companies, 534 E. 1st St., Warren in conjunction with the Salamonie Summer Festival. The event is expected to draw a large number of John Deere collectors for the weekend.

In addition to featuring John Deere tractors and farm equipment, there will be well over 100 other tractors on display along with a number of gas engines, some antique vehicles, a live steam engine and several pieces of vintage farm equipment. Live demonstrations of corn shelling, threshing, straw baling and more will be held on Friday and Saturday afternoon. On Saturday morning there will be a Pedal Tractor Pull for the kids at 10 a.m. and WCJC 99.3 will be broadcasting live from the grounds until noon on Saturday.

A tradition at the show, kettle cooked ham and beans are featured on Saturday at noon. The Stutzman family from Berne will make homemade ice cream and T-N-T concessions will be on hand with their famous breaded tenderloins and much more throughout the weekend. There will be a craft and collectables tent featuring items by local artists and handmade crafts.

This year's show will feature free entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. Friday's feature is The Southern Draw Band, a bluegrass and gospel music group after the parade, and on Saturday at 7 p.m. the Harness Family Band will perform.

The Warren Farmer's Market will be open on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Parking for the market is at the end of Parkway Drive, in Salamonie Heights.

Free parking is available for this event and there is no admission charge for the show or entertainment.
