The Markle Wildcat Festival Car and Truck Show will end up being the only event to take place during the period of time usually occupied by the Markle Wildcat Festival after nothing emerged from efforts to schedule other events.
Linda Reed, treasurer of the Markle Chamber of Commerce, suggested in June that other events might be scheduled for Friday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25, before the Sunday, Aug. 26, car and truck show. However, Reed confirmed on Monday, Aug. 13, that no other events had been scheduled.
The car and truck show is set to take place at the Markle Fish and Game Club Park, over the bridge at highways Ind.-3 and Ind.-116. Registration will be from 8 a.m. until noon.
The Markle Wildcat Festival was cancelled earlier this summer when no one stepped up to lead it.
