Lund's arm, bat leads HNHS past Columbia City, 1-0

Sophomore Maureen Lund pitched yet another shutout and knocked in the game's only run as the Huntington North High School softball team squeezed past visiting Columbia City, 1-0, on Thursday, May 21.

Lund pitched a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts, and led the offense as well with two hits and the lone RBI. Alecia Johnson also had two hits for the Lady Vikings, now 11-6.

Lauren Chanley scored the game's only run in the first inning. She led off the HNHS half of the frame with a single, moved up on a walk to Megan Burnworth and rode home on Lund's first hit.
