Carroll scores trio in first, holds off HNHS diamond men, 5-3

Visiting Carroll struck for three runs in the first inning and held on for a 5-3 win over the Huntington North High School baseball team on Thursday, May 21.

Four hits and three steals in the opening frame led to Carroll's three runs. The visitors also scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to hold off the Vikes, who tallied solo runs of their own in the first, third and fifth innings.

Jamon Hammel had two hits, including a triple, and two runs scored for HNHS, now 13-11 on the season. Brett Wiley knocked in three runs.

Aaron Wolf took the loss on the mound for the Vikings, giving up the opening three runs in just 2/3 of an inning.
