The Huntington Police Athletic League is currently taking registrations for contact and flag football leagues for local five to 12-year-olds.
Final deadline to register is Aug. 15.
Participants can register and pay fees online at www.huntingtonpal.net or at the Huntington Police Department lobby.
There is an option to sell fund-raiser items in place of paying the registration fee. There will be no refunds.
Registration and order forms are available at the police department or at the PAL Club main entrance.
To participate in the contact football league, participants must be nine to 12 years old on Sept. 1, 2011, and weigh a minimum of 65 pounds.
Mandatory equipment pick-up is scheduled for Aug. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon at the PAL Club.
To participate in the flag football league, participants must be five to 12 years old on Sept. 1, 2011.
Age groups of five-six, seven-eight, nine-10 and 11-12 will be formed.
Practices for both leagues will begin in mid-August.
Area-specific teams will be formed as much as possible for Roanoke, Warren or Andrews participants.
Practices will take place in participants' areas, but games will be played at the PAL on Saturdays. Area placements cannot be guaranteed.
