Taylor Pursifull scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Huntington North High School girls' varsity basketball team held off visiting Columbia City, 45-43, on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Winning two straight games for the first time this season, the Lady Vikes, 5-14, carried a 32-28 lead into the final quarter after playing to a 20-all draw at halftime with the Lady Eagles, 8-14.
Kelsey Hollowell added 12 points to the HNHS cause, and Cora Frame had three assists.
The Lady Vikes hit 17 of 43 shots from the field for 39.5 percent. They struggled at the free-throw line with a 9 of 17 effort for 52.9 percent.
Columbia City was led by Macie Hinen with 13 points.
The Lady Eagles hit 18 of 44 shots from the field for 40.9 percent, but only hit 5 of 10 free throws for 50 percent.
