The Huntington North High School boys' and girls' swim teams both lost to visiting Muncie Central on Saturday, Jan. 10.
The Viking boys lost, 113-72, despite Skyler Ruschhaupt earning two individual events and helping a relay team to victory. The HNHS girls lost 111-70.
Ruschhaupt took first place in the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:02.88, and 200-yard individual medley, in 2:15.71. The team of Ruschhhapt, Shaun Marion, Chris Royer and Danny Scher won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:46.30.
Casey Dubuc took the lone other win for HNHS, in the diving competition with a score of 194.
Scher added a second place in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. Ryan Rethlake, Phillip Zook, Dubuc and Marion placed second in the 400-yard freestyle relay and Ruschhaupt, Dubuc, Royer and Scher took second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Sara Karst and Tabby Johnson got the only individual wins for the HNHS girls, Karst earning the 500-yard freestyle victory in 5:58.96 and Johnson winning the diving with a score of 172.70.
The team of Mariah Patrick, Cassie Hacker, Kaitlyn Batt and Karst won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:06.28.
Hacker earned a second in the 100-yard breaststroke, Patrick placed second in the 100-yard backstroke and Patrick, Hacker, Koons and Batt took second in the 200 free relay.
The Viking swimmers host Blackford on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Salamonie School pool.
