The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team raced to a fourth place finish in the 16-team Huntington North Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Huntington University cross country course.
Kayla Patrick was the top finisher for HNHS at 20:14.2, good for 16th place overall.
Robyn Karst was second for HNHS at 20:31.4, and 20th overall; Hannah Stoffel placed 24th in 20:49.4, Marie Ditzler was 30th at 21:05.6 and Marissa Jamison was 32nd in 21:16.3 to round out the HNHS scoring.
Karson Rowe and Cassidy Johnson completed the team as Rowe finished 34th in 21:22.9, and Johnson was 38th in 21:42.0.
Carroll won the invitational with a score of 38. Warsaw, led by individual champion Ashley Erba, placed second with 86 points, and Homestead was third with 117 points.
Erba got her championship with a time of 17:30.4.
Huntington North finished second to Carroll in the girls' junior varsity division. Stepahanie McElhaney, Allison Henn and Taryn Doering finished sixth through eighth, respectively, to lead HNHS to 47 points, 21 behind Carroll.
