Henney is new Huntington University hoops assistant

Jeremy Henney is a newly appointed assistant coach with the Huntington University men's basketball program.

Henney's responsibilities will include assisting with practices, recruiting, game day management and administrative duties.

He got his start as an assistant varsity boys basketball coach in the Catawba County Schools, where he spent four years before serving as an assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne College for a season.

He served as the director of men's basketball operations at Davidson College for two years, during which the program made it to the NCAA Elite Eight with a 29-7 record in 2007-2008.

His first head coaching position was in the South Gibson School Corporation as the varsity boys' basketball coach, where he led his squad to a sectional runner-up in 2010.

The Fort Wayne native earned bachelor of science in secondary social studies education from Indiana University in 2002.
