Lady Vike harriers fourth at Marion Invite

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity cross country team placed fourth out of 16 teams with a score of 120 at the Marion Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Indiana Wesleyan University cross country course in Marion.

Kayla Patrick was the top finisher for the Lady Vikings with a time of 19:47.80, good for 11th place.

Hannah Stoffel was second for Huntington North at 20:16.71 and 18th overall. Marie Ditzler placed 26th in 20:57.66, Marissa Jamison was 32nd in 21:11.24 and Robyn Karst was 33rd in 21:11.91 to round out the team's scoring.

Karson Rowe was 37th in 21:31.75 and Cassidy Johnson was 45th in 21:46.96 to complete the varsity team.

Carroll won the invitational with a score of 29, thanks in part to the performance of individual champion Olivia Hippensteel. Noblesville came in second with 73 points and Homestead came in third with 114 points.

Huntington North's Emily Eherenman placed third overall in the junior varsity race, finishing with a time of 21:24.19.

Eherenman had plenty of company in the top 10 for HNHS as Stephanie McElhaney was fifth in 21:37.63, Lauren Daas was sixth in 21:46.16 and Allison Henn was seventh in 21:47.78. Hannah Peters placed 15th in 22:36.14.

Tammy Munro was 21st in 23:27.41 and Rachel Jones was 22nd in 23:32.47 to complete the junior varsity team.
