Khudziy, Hungria lead HU netmen to first win of season

Vlad Khudziy and Jose Hungria led the Huntington University men's tennis team to its first win of the season as it beat visiting Taylor University, 6-3, on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Khudziy at first singles and Hungria at second both won their matches after teaming up to win first doubles for half of the HU win total.
Joseph Straznicky at third singles and Diego Inurritegui at fourth singles both won their matches and teamed up the second doubles win to get the other half of the Forester win total and help the team improve to 1-2 on the season.
Khudziy beat Wes Young, 6-3, 6-1, at first singles while Hungria had to push to three sets to beat Luke Tilden, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, at second singles. The pair had earlier teamed up to defeat Young and Tilden 8-2 at first doubles.
Straznicky got past Carlos Guarin at third singles, 7-5, 6-0, and Inurritegui put a 6-1, 6-2 thumping on Cameron Boehning at fourth singles after the HU pair dispatched Wes Nitsche and Collin Williams at second singles.
Zakk Sparks lost to Nitsche at first singles, 2-6, 7-5, 0-1, and Jacob Cross at sixth singles lost to Williams, 0-6, 2-6. The Forester duo lost to K. Cassidy and M. Reynolds at third doubles, 6-8.
