The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team won two of three matches at the Noblesville Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Lady Vikings, 7-8, lost to Plainfield but then came back to beat Frankfort and Wes-Del.
The Lady Vikes edged Frankfort, 26-24, 25-23, before getting past Wes-Del, 25-10, 25-21. They fell to Plainfield, 21-25, 22-25.
Senior Allyson Trout was a passing monster against Wes-Del, piling up 29 assists in just two games.
Alexis Wygant, Jessie Drew and Josie Beaver were the beneficiaries of Trout's passing, each having five kills. Wygant added nine digs on defense, and Mikayla Carpenter added eight digs.
Against Frankfort, Trout was even better, amassing 34 assists to go along with seven digs on defense.
Beaver was the kill leader with 10, and Wygant added eight.
In the loss to Plainfield, Drew had nine kills to lead the team, followed by Beaver with five.
Wygant was the defensive leader with 11 digs, and Trout had seven.
