HU women take 0-9 whitewash from IWU

The Huntington University women's tennis team got swept, 0-9, by Crossroads League leading host Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

The Foresters, 4-2, suffered straight set losses in every singles match and didn't win more than one game in any of the doubles matches.

Alex Spasic at first singles lost to Rachael Heininger, 1-6, 3-6, and Katie Johnson at second singles was zipped, 0-6, 0-6, by Katie Wilson. Jessica Abel at third singles also got a 0-6 double whitewash, by Andrea Meyering, and Ciara Smith at fourth singles lost 1-6, 0-6 to Kristen Futrell. Amber Box at fifth singles lost 2-6, 0-6 to Sarah Richert, and Macy Phillips at sixth singles fell 2-6, 2-6 to Diane Jones.

Spasic and Phillips went down 0-8 at first singles to Meyering and L. Wilson, while Abel and Johnson took a 1-8 loss at second doubles to Katie Wilson and Mella. Smith and Madison Johnson got beaten 1-8, by Heininger and Futrell.
