Season ends for Lady Vike golfers at sectional

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity golf team finished fifth out of 10 teams in play Huntington North  Girls' Golf Sectional play at LaFontaine Golf Club in Huntington on Saturday, Sept. 15.

Freshman Sarah Fryman carded a 108 to lead Huntington North to a team score of 448, and two spots off of the top-three finish need to qualify for regional.

Sophomore Maddi Kennedy was just a stroke behind Fryman with a 109, junior Lauren McCullough hit a 115 and Gabrielle Malone fired a 116 to round out the scoring for the Lady Vikings.

Alex Stanley was non-scorer with 127.

Marion finished first with a score of 341. Manchester placed second with a 402 Wabash with a 407 got the third and final qualifying spot. Southwood snagged fourth with 427.

Marion's Kayla Adamson shot a 76 for medalist honors. Manchester's Lindsey Budnik was second with an 80 and Oak Hill's Lauren Tibbets was third with an 81. Chelsea Rahrar of Madison Grant shot a 101 and Rebecca Shade of Blackford with a 103 joined Tibbetts as individual qualifiers for regional.
