Edgewood double dips Crestview gridders

Visiting Edgewood dropped both Crestview Middle School football teams on Tuesday, Sept. 18, beating the eighth-graders, 16-12, and topping the seventh-graders 28-14.

Matt Guhl ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns to lead the CMS eighth-graders. Hunter Hollowell had 69 yards passing and Pat Miller was the team-leader in receiving yards with 37.

Billy Nolen led the team on defense with 8.5 tackles. Guhl added six tackles and Miller and Elijah Dyer each had five tackles.

For the Cougar seventh-graders, Hunter Strass racked up 76 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Ian McCutcheon added 31 yards rushing and James Hundersmarck had 17 yards and a touchdown passing.

Mason Landrum led the team with four tackles. Keaton Smeltzer, Colton Hasty, Logan Moreland and McCutcheon each had three tackles.
