Team 3RVS takes the win in Bicycle Challenge

Team 3RVS won the 27-mile Bysiness Team event of the Huntington Bicycle Challenge on Sept. 15.

The challenge was sponsored by Markle Health & Rehabilitation.

Team 3RVS, from Three Rivers VeloSport, included Jeff Kenny, Matt Misner, Kirby Moss, Steven Pequignot, Hugh Smith, and Patrick Stelte.

The second place team was IHOP First Federal, which included tIan Hope, James Levine, Brad Mills, Greg Ness, Craig Reynolds and Scott Womack.

The third place team was pokesmen Cycling, which included Jonathan Perez, Jarod Mason, Colin Biberstine, Josh Hittler, Brandon Elliot and Wes Ring.

More than 150 riders participated on five different road courses. There were more than 80 Business Team competitors and 75 Scenic Tour riders.

Approximately $7,000 was raised in profits that will benefit two causes:

• Pathfinder Services to assist teenagers with developmental disabilities with scholarships to attend summer camp.

• Parkview Home Health & Hospice's end-of-life care for the terminally ill.

Additional sponsors of the event and volunteers who assisted in the success of the day of the event were area police departments, Huntington City Engineering, Huntington County Sheriff's Disaster Team, Schenkel's All Star Dairy,and Northview Inn and Suites.
