Kokomo sweeps HNHS netboys

A three-set loss at first doubles was the best the Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team could manage in a 0-5 loss to visiting Kokomo on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Dylan Bamgartner and Andrew Smith lost to Brandon Newton and Parker Sanburn, 5-7, 7-6, 6-10, in the best effort of the afternoon for HNHS, 5-8.

The second doubles team of Wyatt Nave and Cameron Buzzard lost to Joe Farkas and Andrew Schten, 3-6, 4-6.

None of the singles players won more than three games against their Kokomo foes. At first singles, Aaron Gilmore was blanked by Craig Simon, 0-6, 0-6; Tommy Bolinger at second singles lost to Drew Sale, 1-6, 0-6; and Matt Sieberns at third singles lost to Cody Shipley, 0-6, 3-6.

HNHS went down 0-2 in junior varsity play. Nathan Lundy lost to Jose Valvidia, 0-6, 0-6, and Tristan Thieken fell 4-6, 0-6, to his Kokomo foe.
