In a match that could have gone either way, the Huntington University men's tennis team dropped a 4-5 decision to host Marian University on Friday, Sept. 21, at the West Indy Racket Cub.
Vlad Khudziy and Diego Innurritegui were both double winners for the Foresters, being victorious in singles and being part of a winning doubles team.
Khudziy beat Ryan Hever at first singles, 6-4, 6-1, and teamed with Jose Hungria at first doubles for an 8-1 win over Andrews Voss and Will Dixon. Innuritegui at third singles went three sets to beat Voss, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, and he and Joseph Straznicky beat Tyler Scanlon and Mitchell Traumel, 8-1, in second doubles.
Traumel squeaked past Straznickly at fourth singles, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6, to give Marian the win.
Hungria at second singles lost to Jason Denton, 2-6, 7-6, and Zakk Sparks at fifth singles fell to Tyler Scanlon, 0-6, 4-6. Arjun Bhalla at sixth singles was blanked by Jack Hiatt, 0-6, 0-6.
