HU netmen have tough day against Spring Arbor

Diego Inurritegui's win at fourth singles was the lone bright spot for the Huntington University men's tennis team as it lost to host Spring Arbor 1-8 on Saturday, Sept 22.

Inurritegui defeated Nathan Scholten, 6-4, 6-2.

Arjun Bhalla gave Matt Wojtkowski a good match at sixth singles before losing 3-6, 6-3, 7-10 and Vlad Khudziy battled with Thomas Calderone at first singles before falling 6-7, 6-4, 6-7 (13-15).

In other singles matches, Jose Hungria was defeated by David Darling at second singles, 1-6, 3-6, Joseph Straznicky lost to Aaron Mayes at third singles, 3-6, 1-6 and Zakk Sparks came up short against Michael Darling at fifth singles, 2-6, 2-6.

In doubles play, Khudziy and Hungria dropped their match at first doubles to Calderone and Mayes, 6-8, Inurritegui and Straznicky stumbled against David Darling and Scholten at second doubles, 6-8 and Sparks and Bhalla didn't have an answer for John Hall and Jesse DeBoer at third doubles, losing 2-8.
