CMS harriers back in pack at Wabash Invite

The Crestview Middle School boys' varsity cross country team placed fifth and the girls' varsity team placed seventh on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Wabash Invitational.

Dillon Valenti placed 12th in 11:29 to lead the boys' team. David Spencer placed 18th in 11:48, Dawson Hertel was 28th in 12:18, Jacob Foster was 45th in 13:02 and Nolen Young rounded out the scoring with 48th place in 13:05.

Mitchell McElhaney was 49th in 13:19 and Jordon Ness was 69th in 13:42 to complete the varsity.

The girls' varsity team placed all of its scoring runners from 33rd through 47th places, led by Chloe Scheiber in 13:16. Jamie Ness was 37th in 13:45, Emma Helmich was 38th in 13:50, Jenna Henline was 40th in 13:52 and Emma Melcher was 47th in 13:59.

Megan Thomas placed 49th in 14:08 and Macy Niswander was 86th in 16:11 to complete the varsity squad.

Both the Crestview junior varsity squads took fourth place.

Alex Wiedenhoeft and Evan Kropf led the JV boys by placing 14th and 15th, respectively, in 13:27 and 13:31. Reid Dillion was 25th in 14:05, Jack Young was 27th in 14:18 and Josh Waters was 28th in 14:19.

Chelsea Boyer placed eighth in 15:03 to pace the Crestview JV girls. Rachel Moore was 26th in 16:50, Megan Berry was 31st in 17:30, Jennifer Meyer was 32nd in 17:32 and Lindsie Berghoff was 41st in 19:55.
