Kasicki a double winner but HU netwomen fall to Grace

Cassie Kasicki was a double winner but the Huntington University women's tennis team lost its fifth consecutive Crossroad League match on Tuesday, Sept. 25, to host Grace College, 3-6.
Kasicki at first singles dropped Kristin Cassidy, 6-1, 6-3, and she teamed with Alek Spasic at first doubles to defeat Cassidy and former Huntington North player Taryn Wuensch, 8-1.
HU's only other win came from the second doubles team of Katie Johnson and Jessica Abel, which got an 8-6 win over Nicole Beguin and Janelle Hess.
The Foresters felll to 3-5 on the season.
Wuensch, a 2012 HNHS grad, beat HU's Johnson at second singles, 7-5, 7-5.
Abel at third singles lost to Beguin, 6-7, 1-6; Ciara Smith at fourth singles lost to Hess, 6-3, 6-7, 6-7; Amber Bos at No. 5 singles lost to Sarah Hinkel, 2-6, 1-6; and Macy Phillips at sixth singles lost to Esther Smith, 2-6, 1-6.
Smith and Madison Johnson at third doubles fell to Hinkel and Smith, 2-8.
