The season came to an end for the Huntington North High School boys' tennis team on Friday, Sept. 28, with a 0-5 loss to Adams Central in the Norwell Tennis Sectional Tournament.
The Vikings, finishing the season at 5-12, got competitive play from Tommy Bolinger at second singles, with the junior challenging Jacob Weil, 4-6, 3-6, and from Matt Sieberns at third singles, as the sophomore hung with Eric Ripley, 3-6, 3-6.
The other Vikings had a tougher time figuring out their Adams Central opponents, with Aaron Gilmore losing to Nathan Barger at first singles, 0-6, 2-6, Dylan Baumgartner and Andrew Smith falling to Conner Lengerich and Isaac Luginbill at first doubles, 1-6, 0-6 and Wyatt Nave and Cameron Buzzard coming up short against Ben Kaehr and Pierce Harris at second doubles, 3-6, 1-6.
Baumgartner is the only player Huntington North will lose to graduation.
