Sunday, September 30, 2012 11:01 AM
A second-half comeback attempt by the Huntington North High School boys' varsity soccer team fell short on Saturday, Sept. 29, and the Vikings fell to visiting Richmond, 2-1.
Senior Isaac Wust cut into the Red Devils' 2-0 lead following the first half with his 23rd goal of the season, off an assist by Trey Sorg, but it was all the offense the Vikings could muster.
Goalkeeper Chad Wingo had five saves for Huntington North, which finishes the regular season at 8-6-1 and 4-3 in conference play.
In junior varsity action, Alex Hosler and Jacob Vinson found the back of the net to give the Vikings a 2-0 victory. Brad Young had an assist.
The JV finishes its season 6-7-1 with a 4-2-1 conference record.
