HU volleyball team splits with Purdue NC, Davenport

The Huntington University volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday, Sept. 29, as they beat Purdue North Central in three games but lost to Davenport in four games at HU.

The Foresters, 3-13,fell to Davenport, 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 13-25, in the early match, then topped Purdue North Central, 25-16, 25-13, 25-21, in the later match.

Heather Medich had 10 kills against Davenport, and Melissa Grossman and Brittany Rooze each had nine.

Jensen Carnahan was the assist leader with 32, and Bowers has 18 digs.

The three-headed monster of Heather Medich, Kelsey Kruse and Kaylee Serles each had seven kills to lead HU in the opener.

Codie Morey had 30 assists to aid the offense, and Katie Bowers and Kruse added 11 and nine assists, respectively, to key the defense.
