Sparked by Gretchen Spahr, the Huntington University women's cross country team placed 16th out of 38 teams a the 27th annual Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29, a the University of Minnesota.
Running a 6K, a kilometer longer than usual, Spahr placed 36th out of 413 runners in 23:47 to lead the Foresters.
Cendall Ogle placed 100th in 24:42 for second place among HU finishers, and Erin Rockey was 103rd in 24:44. Krista Wood ran a 24:57 for 113th place despite taking two spills, and Natalie Spahr completed the HU scoring by placing 117th in 25:01.
Miranda Boyts placed 163rd in 25:40 and Hanna Moore was 181st in 25:56 to complete the HU squad.
