Crestview cross country teams second at Indian Springs

Both the Crestview Middle School boys' and girls' cross country teams placed second in a three-way meet at Indian Springs on Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Led by Dillon Valenti's fifth place finish, the boys scored 53 points. Indiana Springs won the meet with 21 points and Manchester was third with 71 points.

Chloe Scheiber led the girls with a seventh place finish. Crestview scored 58 points, while Indian Springs had a five-person sweep for 15 and Manchester had 64 points.

Valenti went 11:16 for his fifth place. David Spencer finished in 12:09 for 10th place, Dawson Hertel was 12th in 12:13, Jacob Foster was 14th in 12:43 and Nolen Young completed the CMS scoring with 19th place in 13:11.

Valenti, Hertel and Foster were three of the nine Cougars who had season-best times.
Scheiber crossed the finish line in 13:00 to grab her seventh place. Jenna Henline was 10th in 13:25, Meagan Thomas was 13th in 13:39, Emma Helmich was 16th in 13:41 and Emma Melcher completed the CMS scoring with 17th place in 13:46.

All five scorers were among 12 Cougar runners with personal best times.
