HU women netters aced by IWU at Crossroads

The Huntington University women's tennis team went down to a 0-5 defeat to top-seeded Indiana Wesleyan University in the first round of the Crossroads League Tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 2.

After sweeping all three doubles matches, the Wildcats claimed wins at fifth and sixth singles to clinch the win and force stoppage of all other matches.

At first doubles, Cassie Kasicki and Alek Spasic lost to Andrea Meyering and Lauren Wilson, 5-8. Katie Johnson and Jessica Abel at second doubles fell 1-8 to Katie Wilson and Kim Mella, and at third doubles Macy Phillips and Madison Johnson lost 1-8 to Rachael Heininger and Kristen Futrell.

Ciara Smith was beaten 1-6, 0-6 by Sarah Richert at fifth singles, and Amber Bos at sixth singles took a 2-6, 1-6 beating from Diane Jones.
