HU spikers top IU-K, fall to Aquinas

The Huntington University volleyball team split matches at Aquinas on Saturday, defeating IU-Kokomo in straight sets before falling to the host school in four games.

The Foresters downed IU-K, 25-22, 25-14, 25-17, but lost to Aquinas, 23-25, 25-18, 29-31, 14-25.

Kaylee Searles and Brittany Rooze were the big sticks against Kokomo with 10 and nine kills, respectively, and Rooze also led the defense with 12 digs.

Cody Morey was the passing leader with 18 assists, and Jensen Carnahan added 15.
Heather Medich added eight digs.

Morey piled up 48 assists in the battle against Aquinas, and Rooze hammered home 17 kills. Searles added 11 kills and Mellissa Grossman added 10.

Katie Bowers paced the defensive efforts with 29 digs, followed by Medich with 21, Rooze with 17 and Jessica Sullivan with 15.

HU is now 4-15 on the season.
