Sunday, October 28, 2012 9:05 AM
Host Taylor scored once in each half and kept the Huntington University women's soccer team off the scoreboard completely as the Foresters lost 2-0 in first around action of the Crossroads League Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 27.
Cara Johnson of Taylor broke a scoreless tie with a goal at 24:17 as she received a pass form Amanda Rosen behind the HU defense to score what would be the game-winning goal.
HU, which finished the season at 12-6-1, got five saves from goalkeeper Samantha Barclay on the afternoon.
Taylor added an insurance goal in the second half as Dani Goecke slipped one past Barclay from close range at 86:29.
