Forester women take first loss of season in Berea tourney championship

The Huntington University women's basketball team lost for the first time this season, to Robert Morris University, 61-54, on Saturday, Nov. 17, in the Berea College Pepsi Challenge championship game.

Sarah Miler-Jennings led the Foresters, 5-1, with 14 points. Pazia Speed added 11 and Taylor Foley supplied eight to go with a team-high 13 rebounds.

Huntington led 27-23 after the first half, but Robert Morris outpaced the Foresters' offensive production by 11 in the second to get the win.

The Foresters shot themselves in the foot, figuratively, with their poor shooting, hitting only 2 of 19 from three-point range for 10.5 percent on the way to a 21 of 58, 36.2 percent overall performance. The Eagles hit 22 of 55 shots from the field for 40 percent, including 3 of 10 from beyond the arc.

Allison Greene had four assists to lead HU in that department, and Foley, Speed and Lauren Meese all added three.
