Jolas claims titile at Hurrle Memorial Invitational

Kyle Jolas claimed the lone championship for the Huntington North High School wrestling team at the John Hurrle Memorial Invitational at Arsenal Tech, in Indianapolis, on Saturday, Nov. 17.
The Vikings finished seventh out of 16 teams.
Jolas went 5-0 with one pin and two major decisions to win his title at 145 pounds.
Tanner Shipley, at 132 pounds, went 4-1 and was runner-up.
Five Vikings went 3-2. They were Alex Beal at 132, Ian Hiers at 138, Sebastian Eckert at 152, Layne Emery at 195 and Shawn Renz at heavyweight.
Chandler Updike went 1-3 at 171 and Josh Danals finished with the same record at 220.
Sean Reynolds went 0-4 at 160 and Clayton Carmichael was 0-5 at 182.
Hiers, Emery and Renz led the team with three pins each during the tourney.
