Tuesday, November 27, 2012 9:49 AM
The Huntington North High School boys' bowling team won the Eagles' Holiday Classic Bowling Tournament in South Bend on Saturday, Nov. 24.
The Vikings, the second seeded after the first 10 Baker-style games based on total pinfall, beat top-seeded Hobart in two games for the championship after going through third-seeded Riverton Parke to get there.
Against Hobart, the Vikings started off by rolling four strikes in five frames and got eight out of 12 possible strikes to beat Hobart 231-179. The Vikes only came up with a 203 in the second game, but it was good enough to claim the title without going to a third game.
The Vikings beat Riverton Parke 159-129 and posted a
197 for the second game win.
Tournament team members included AJ Bickel, Cole Boyd, Trent Kline, Chad Kramer, Tyler Krepp, Adam Harris-
Shoemaker and Zac Tackett.
The Vikings are coached by Doug Scott and Bob Gottschalk.
