Chargers run away from Vikes in middle two frames

An even first quarter between the Huntington North High School boys' varsity basketball team and host Carroll gave way to a 45-18 shellacking in favor of the Chargers over the next to two quarters, helping send the Vikings to a 67-43 defeat on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Kalvin Miller and Matt Hogan each scored 10 points to lead Huntington North, 3-2. Trenton Kern and Noah Reed supplied nine points apiece, with the latter dishing out a game-high four assists.
The Chargers' Chandler White went off on the Vikings, scoring 28 points on 11 of 19 shooting, including 3 for 3 from beyond the arc. White also grabbed a game-best seven rebounds and led the Chargers with three assists.
Alex Hammond and Tony Orr contributed 12 and 8 points, respectively, to Carroll's cause on a combined 8 for 10 shooting.
For the game, the Chargers shot 55.3 percent from the field, nailing 26 of 47 attempts. The Vikings managed 39.5 percent on 15 of 38 shooting.
Huntington North was victorious in the junior varsity game, 44-33. It was a balanced offensive effort for the Vikings, as Jordan Seabolt scored 10 points, Cody Adams and Konner Platt each came up with eight, Grant Canady supplied seven and Derek Snyder tallied six.
