The Huntington North High School varsity wrestling team placed fifth at the Charger Invitational, hosted by Elkhart Memorial, on Saturday, Dec. 8.

Heavyweight Shawn Renz led the Vikings with four pins and a record of 4-1, placing second in his weight class.

Tanner Shipley, at 132, also finished 4-1 and second in his weight class, recording a pin along the way.

Five Vikings finished 3-2: Alex Beal, at 126; Bailey Shockome, at 138; Kyle Jolas, at 145; Dakota Plasterer, at 170; and Lane Emery, at 195. Plasterer produced two pins and Beal and Emery each came up with one.

Chandler Updike, at 160, and Sean Reynolds, at 182, both went 2-3 to round out the team.
