Crestview boys win own hoop tournaments

The Crestview Middle School boys' seventh grade basketball team defeated visiting Southern Wells and Eastbrook to win its own invitational on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Collin Landrum scored 14 points to lead the Cougars to a 36-26 victory in the first game over Southern Wells. Logan Moreland added eight points and Ian McCutcheon and Trent Cissel each had four.
Crestview beat Eastbrook in the second game, 49-35. Austin Spahr supplied 12 points for the Cougars, Mason Landrum tallied 10, Moreland and McCutcheon put up six and Cissel added four.
The team's record stands at 5-3.
The eighth grade team also walked away invitational champions, defeating Southern Wells and Whitko.
Hunter Hollowell's 18 points helped Crestview to a 51-43 win over Southern Wells in the first game. Matt Guhl supplied eight points and Ben Bentz came up with five.
The Cougars rode a balanced offensive effort in the second game to a 52-36 victory over Whitko. Hollowell was one of the three CMS players to score in double figures, finishing with 15 points and eight rebounds. Bentz chipped in 13, Guhl totaled 10 and Spencer Kryder had nine.
The team improves to 9-1.
