Lady Vikes beat Wayne for second straight win

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity basketball team took a 12-point lead after the first quarter of its game against host Wayne on Wednesday, Dec. 19, and never looked back, winning its second-straight contest, 50-39.
Allyson Trout led the Lady Vikings, 2-9, with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Kelsey Hollowell had nine points and Lindsey Foster and Hannah Stoffel each added seven to Huntington North's cause.
Trout shot 7 of 11 from the field, including 3 of 4 frm beyond the arc.
Carmen James went 3 for 4 from beyond the arc and put up 15 points for Wayne.
The Lady Vikings outshot the Lady Generals for the game, hitting 20 of 41 shots for 48.8 percent to the hosts' 13 of 33 effort for 39.4 percent.
Foster and Kayla Patrick each had three assists for the Lady Vikes, and Stoffel chilpped in with four steals.
After taking a 17-5 in the first frame, the Lady Vikes extended their advantage to 31-15 by halftime. They led 40-24 heading into the final frame.
Huntington North blasted Wayne in the junior varsity game, 37-15. Danielle Kem and Ellie Lawson paced the Lady Vikings with six points apiece.
