6 local youths compete at Knights of Columbus district free throw competition

Six local youths advanced to the Knights of Columbus district free throw competition after earning top scores in the local contest sponsored by Msgr. Dillon Council 1014 of the Catholic fraternal organization.
Winners in the Jan. 20 contest at the Huntington Catholic School gym are Sam Thompson, 10-year-old boys division; Graham Scher, 11-year-old boys division; Taylor Reust, 11-year-old girls division; Adam Zahn, 12-year-old boys division; Ian McCutcheon, 13-year-old boys division; and Pat Miller, 14-year-old boys division.
Each participant in the local contest was given the chance to shoot 15 free throws, with the winners successfully completing the most shots.
The district competition was held on Feb. 2 at the YMCA in Wabash. District winners can move on to state and national levels.
