Vikings' Krepp wins regional singles bowling crown

Huntington North High School senior Tyler Krepp won the regional singles bowling tournament at Pro Bowl West, in Fort Wayne, on Saturday, Feb. 2, to advance to semi-state.

Krepp, a senior, trounced Wayne's Colton Adams, 254-180, in the stepladder final that determined the regional champion. Prior to that, Krepp rolled games of 203, 206 and 239 for a 648 series that secured him the top seed going into the stepladder.

Adam Harris-Shoemaker, also a senior, rolled games of 170, 200 and 154 for a series of 524 and missed out on going to semi-state by just 31 pins.

The Vikings failed to move on as a team, rolling a 780 in their first game and a 925 in their second to get the seventh seed out of 12 schools heading into Baker play. The team struggled, rolling games of 177, 155, 184, 187 and 157 for a total of 2,565 pins for the tournament.

Northrop was the regional team champion, followed by Elkhart Memorial, Snider, Wayne and Carroll, which edged Huntington North by 66 pins to get to semi-state.
