HU men third at DePauw Invite

Two first-place finishes by Forester runners helped the Huntington University men's track and field team capture third place out of 11 teams with 80 points at the DePauw Indoor Classic on Saturday, Feb. 16.

Matt Bittner topped the 600-meter run with a new personal record of 1:31.31, and Antonio Castillo was the leader of the pack in the 1,000-meter run with a 2:42.64.

Second place finishes came from Lance Wood in the 5,000-meter run with personal record time of 15:54.47 and Daniel DeBoni in the 60-meter dash with a personal record-tying :07.19.

Other top eight finishes for Huntington included Scott Skiles' fifth in the 400-meter dash in :53.18; Jacob Reents' seventh in the 400-meter dash in :55.17; Nathan Rupp's fourth in the 5,000-meter run in 16:22.34; Levy Francois' fifth in the 60-meter hurdles in :09.01; Jacob Stone's sixth in pole vault with a personal record of 12-09.50; and Logan Knox's fourth in weight throw with a personal record of 47-05.25 and Lucas Knox's seventh in the same event in 45-01.50.

Taylor won the title with 166 points. Cumberlands was runner-up with 116.
