Huntington University women's track team member Gretchen Spahr placed 17th in the 5,000-meter run on day one of the 2013 NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, OH, on Thursday, Feb. 28.
Spahr, seeded 11th, finished the race in 18:27.33.
The sophomore punched her ticket to indoor nationals, her second trip in as many seasons, by capturing second-place in the 5,000-meter run at the DePauw University Indoor Classic on Feb. 16 in 18:10.46.
As a freshman, the Huntington native was a member of the distance medley relay team that ran to an 18th place finish.
