HU men’s tennis trounces Indiana Tech

The Huntington University men's tennis team trounced visiting Indiana Tech 7-2 on Friday, March 22.

Joseph Straznicky won his match at second singles against Fernando Gonzalez, 6-4, 6-3, Diego Inurritegui triumphed over Nic Tripanon at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Zakk Sparks turned back Vini Silva in the sixth singles match, 6-4, 6-4.

Vlad Khudziy at first singles and Jose Hungria at third singles faced tougher tests, but still emerged victorious, with Khudziy beating Joaquin Ferrando, 6-7, 6-2, 10-8, and Hungria edging Sriram Aranganathan, 6-2, 7-6, 7-4.

Joe Brenneman suffered a 2-6, 2-6 setback to Alberto Tenias in the fifth singles match.

In doubles play, Khudziy and Hungria defeated Ferrando and Aranganathan at first doubles while Straznicky and Inurritegui teamed up to thump Tripanon and Silva at second doubles, each by a score of 8-2.

Sparks and Brenneman fell short in the match at third doubles to Gonzalez and Tenias, 4-8.

The Foresters improve their record to 8-9.
