Ruschhaupt, Scher lead boys' swim team to win

Skyler Ruschhaupt and Danny Scher each won two individual races and were on two winning relay teams to lead the Huntington North High School boys' varsity swim team over host South Adams, 101-79, on Tuesday, Jan. 20.

Ruschhaupt captured the 500-yard freestyle, in 5:05.23, and the 100-yard breaststroke, in 1:04.15. Scher bested the field in the 50-yard freestyle, in :22.78, and led a Viking 1-2 finish in the 100-yeard freestyle, finishing ahead of teammate Shaun Marion in :50.11.

Ruschhaupt and Scher teamed with Marion and Chris Royer to win the 200-yard medley relay, in 1:46.07, and with Marion and Ryan Rethlake to win the 400-yeard freestyle relay, in 3:32.09.

Marion also added a win in the 200-yard freestyle, in 1:59.89, and Casey Dubuc won the 1-meter diving competitition, with 229.40 points.

Royer and Phillip Zook placed second and third in the 200-year individual medley, Dubuc took third in the 50 free, Royer was runner-up in the 100-yard butterfly,Rethlake placed third in the 500 free and Zook was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke.

The team will be at Marion on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
