HU bowling women finish at NAIA Invite

The Huntington University women's bowling team ended its inaugural season at the 2013 NAIA Invitational at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis on March 22 and 23.

After 20 qualifying Baker games on Friday morning, the Foresters spent the afternoon and Saturday participating in the double elimination, best of five Baker matches, portion of the invite.

Huntington got off to a hot start on Friday, sweeping Cumberland University, 188-138, 195-166, 209-139.

Saturday proved to be more of a challenge, with the Foresters facing last year's national runner-up, Midland University. Huntington held tough, but came up short against the fourth-ranked Warriors, 191-202, 190-202, 208-204, 169-247.

The Foresters, behind the play of Ayla Yeiter, bounced back to hand Missouri Baptist University a 3-0 loss, 160-130, 170-160, 170-151, before dropping a 3-2 decision to No. 28 Mount Mercy University. After falling behind by two games to the Mustangs, Huntington stormed back to take the next two, forcing a fifth and final game where they came up ten pins short, 114-181, 149-171, 160-157, 208-202, 161-171.
